Spring is almost here and Easter is coming too. I have been seeing a lot of bunnies in home decor trends. I was inspired by a few pieces that had bunny silhouettes on them and I thought, “I could do that!”
So I created a stencil and tried it on a few things – I could have gone crazy with this {see top photo}! I’ve included the stencil here as a downloadable pdf file for you. Print the pdf file and cut out the stencil(s) with scissors or an Xacto knife. To stencil, I used a regular small paint brush and acrylic paint and stenciled the small bunnies on the bags {made of burlap and paper}. I’ll use these bags on Easter and as decoration around our home. I tried another technique using spray paint to stencil the larger bunny on a piece of scrapbook paper. Then I adhered the paper to a piece of wood as a alternative to a standard frame. It’s a great {cheap} Easter/Spring decoration. Try stenciling a bunny on something of your own, maybe a tote bag, a basket, a burlap banner or a pillow case. Have fun with it. One tip: be sure to hold the stencil down when painting, or use tape on the backside of the stencil – it helps the image have crisper edges. Also, you can turn the stencil around to have facing bunnies!
