Hi all – My name is Lori Greco and I’m glad you’re here.
I’m a graphic designer by trade and I worked in an ad agency in Boston for several years. I loved the fast-paced, Mad Men style environment. But I left in 2000 when we started a family and worked on a freelance basis. I’ve always loved graphic design work, but I could never escape the long hours and high-stress level that came with the corporate advertising world.
In 2010 I started this blog and began exploring creativity in different ways. Writing, DIYing, some home design consulting, painting, and woodworking. People started to ask me to make them things that they saw on my blog and for general design advice. I slid my creative interests from the corporate world slowly into more of a personal, hands-on environment. I saw the direct results from my efforts and loved the variety of creative outlets I was exploring.
So I grew that love of making things into a little business. I kept some of my corporate clients, but the bulk of what I was doing was home decor consults, handmade items, and I went back to my college days of drawing and painting.
I’ve loved it and I’ve been lucky to stay busy and creative. In June, I was the recipient of a grant that was offered by the state to have a pop-up shop in our town. Even though a store wasn’t forefront in my mind, this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. So I recruited my creative and organized sister and my niece, who has her own online clothing and accessories boutique (bleutral.com). This new venture has been amazing. We’re looking to extend our temporary pop-up be a permanent gig. We’re not sure it will all be happening, but it looks promising.
So you’ll get a little bit of everything here on the blog and now in our shop. And we hope that you’ll find something that speaks to you – and if not – we’re happy to create something custom for you. Maybe it’s a wood sign with a saying your family has always cherished or a gift basket filled with inspiring handmade items that will lift someone’s spirits, or maybe it’s a hand-painted art print with a sweet watercolor that is just what you need to look at every day.
