Halloween is almost here and if you’re like our family, our kids get an obscene amount of candy. And I don’t know why they even try to get so much of it because a few days after Halloween, they seem to forget about it. ok, maybe not totally forget about it – but they really only have an interest in some of it. And then I just want to throw it all away. All that sugar and gooeyness – it makes me crazy. As parents, we don’t like to have too much candy around but we also don’t completely forbid it. I think that might be part of the reason why our kids don’t go crazy when candy is around. Moderation. But I think the quest to get Halloween candy is a whole different story. No moderation there. They count it, they sort it and trade it. Whoever gets the most is the winner. So we will have lots and lots of candy over here in a few days and I will be going crazy. We donate some of it but there’s still a lot left over. So as a way to be creative with what we have, I found some recipes for all that extra candy.
