Spring is coming. Really. I’ve been dying to open my windows, put the winter gear away and give the house a serious spring cleaning {well, kind of}. I’ve started to add some spring touches around our home. I’ll show you some of those in a future post when it really does feel like spring! But one thing I love to do as the seasons change is mix up our artwork.
So to help get us all in the mood for Spring, I did a few new art prints and added them to my shop. Changing the artwork in our homes can be an easy {and cheap} change. I know what you’re thinking: I have to find a frame, find a place to hang it and then put another nail in the wall! ugh. You could certainly do that – I usually take one of my frames and change that one out each season {same nail hole}. Or, instead of hanging the art, you could lean a frame on a shelf or any table top surface. You could also forgo the frame and adhere the print to a piece of cardboard, and lean that too. Another option – which is my recent favorite – is to use washi tape. I heart washi tape! If you’re not familiar with it, it feels like masking tape {very pretty masking tape} but it’s made of paper. It’s not as delicate as you would expect. It comes in tons of patterns and designs so you can really have fun with it. I took one of my prints and just taped it to our kitchen chalkboard. Done. Here are the prints in real life:
april showers bring may flowers – this print incorporates soft watercolors with colorful type. Can’t wait for the flowers….
rainbow connection – such a great song. And even though this is not technically about Spring, the song has such a positive message and rainbows remind me of rainy/sunny Spring days.
it’s a good day – again, maybe not really a print just for Spring, but this one sums up my overall attitude about the warmer weather. Happy. I can’t help it – the winter drains me. Feeling that spring is almost here makes me feel good about the day. {See the washi tape?!}
