It’s been slow going but we’ve been making some good progress on my sister’s home office. If you don’t remember, our before pictures are below {we’re getting there}.
The big project we did was paint a quatrefoil pattern on the back wall. We got the stencil here at Etsy and I highly recommend it! It’s about 2 x 3′ and just a good quality stencil. The wall looks amazing and it wasn’t a very complicated project to take on. The paint color we used was Benjamin Moore Black Jack – which isn’t a true black , it’s more of a gray black. We contemplated adding metallic paint to the color but the stenciling brush and technique gives the look of a textured, fluid finish.
Here’s the art wall where we hung a lot of the pieces I did {see original post here}.
Here’s the trunk refinished {see the tutorial post here}, with the refinished tray {see the tutorial post here}.
Other additions include some great finds like this parsons chair slip cover from Pier 1 Imports. This round mirror from Kohl’s, and this super comfy pouf from Kohl’s.
Still to do: add scrapbook paper lining to a multi-sectioned shelf, refinish standard folding chairs, create a few more pieces of art for the walls: “@” symbol to go with “&” sign, alphabet print… and decorate light switch and outlet covers.
And we’re still looking for: a tall floor plant, additional lighting and a non-traditional file cabinet {still trying to figure that out}. The room is getting there and we’re having so much fun doing it! On another note, we have only spent about $220!!
