Happy Friday! Today’s post is so fun because it was created by my super talented niece and fashion design student, Shannon. She’s a sophomore at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island where she’s getting her undergraduate degree in graphic and fashion design. And she has just always had an amazing eye for fashion and trends. Since I’m not nearly as cool as she is, I often don’t figure out the fashion trends until they have come and gone. So when she created this post I was so excited and felt like I had the inside scoop. I felt pretty hip.
According to Shannon, Blush Pink is the color of the moment and I couldn’t agree more – it’s everywhere. It’s the perfect color when it comes to fashion and it has a lot of staying power because of it’s versatility. It’s a sophisticated, warm and elegant pink color. And even though it’s a soft hue, it can really make a statement. I just bought two things in this awesome, chic color: Baby-G Digital Watch and a pair of the Sperry Top-sider Sneakers. So maybe I am a little more hip than I thought. maybe.
Here are a few of Shannon’s Blush Pink highlights: bag and this similar // Urban Decay Naked eye shadows // beach pants from American Eagle (past season) or these similar // earrings and these similar // sunnies and these similar // bathing suit or this one or this one // OPI nail polish // Sperry sneakers // cap // jacket and this similar and this bomber style // ruffled top or this similar or this similar // Kylie Jenner Koko K Lip Kit
And this is the perfect shade for the end of summer and beginning of fall when we still have a sun-kissed glow. Here are a few of her recommendations for wearing Blush Pink:
Blush Pink is an accent shade that works with both warm and cool colors. Pair blush with colors that work as an anchor such as navy, chocolate, olive, charcoal, black, burgundy, teal, and emerald to balance out the soft, muted qualities of blush.
This color pairs well with denim. Ripped jean shorts, a skirt, jean jacket or skinny jeans. Even blush pink denim.
And there’s no better way to accentuate your tan than with a Blush Pink bathing suit. So pretty and feminine.
A Blush Pink jacket is great way to elevate a more neutral outfit.
And it’s the perfect color for accessories such as handbags, shoes, hats and scarves. It adds just the right amount of unexpected color to compliment an outfit.
And jewelry. Blush Pink works with all the metal finishes and can add that finishing touch to any outfit.
Add Blush Pink to your make-up and beauty collection too. I love the OPI nail color: You’re Blushing Again and even Kylie Jenner has a lip line with this amazing, subtle hue. Shannon also recommends the Urban Decay Naked Palette eye shadows that cover a broad spectrum of the different shades of Blush Pink. A soft, subtle look is so on point.
I love this color and I feel like this Blush Pink trend is so versatile that it has some real staying power. Try adding this subtle, feminine hue to your wardrobe and I guarantee you’ll love how it looks.
And then you can always just sip away on some Blush Pink bubbly. Enjoy!
