I’ve seen lots of fun ways to decorate pumpkins, from the traditional carving faces to painting them in non-traditional colors like hot pink or robin’s egg blue.
I wasn’t in the carving mood – all that mess, and time, and mess. I wanted to try something different and go the decorating route so I decided to add some bling to a white pumpkin. It was fun, super easy and adds a fancy touch to my halloween and fall decorating. It looks very festive and almost Christmas-like.
All you really needed for this project are gold sequins, push pins with colored heads, a small can of gold spray paint and a medium sized white pumpkin.
First, I taped off the pumpkin so that just the stem was showing. I sprayed the stem gold and let it dry.
Next, I placed the sequins on the pumpkin and used the colorful push pins to hold them on by pinning them through the center of the sequins. No messy glue or dry time. And no gooey pumpkin guts. Put as many as you like {the more bling the better!}. I used 100 for this pumpkin.
It’s definitely a different approach to decorating our pumpkins and I think it’s fun and creative. But I don’t think my daughter will let me get away without carving at least one pumpkin. That’s ok, as messy as it is, the seeds are delicious!
What do you think? Are you the traditional carving type or are you going to mix it up this year. If you’s looking for other pumpkin decorating ideas, check out my pinterest page here – there’s tons of great stuff!
Have a wonderful weekend!
