Here’s a fun, simple project you can do to create some cute – but spooky – ways to hold all that extra Halloween candy. And I love this project because we’re recycling or repurposing glass jars and the only thing I bought was the candy
You’ll need the following materials:
• old glass food jars with twist on/off covers (peanut butter, pickle and sauce jar sizes work well)
• spray paint (I used silver but black, gold, orange, purple or any Halloween colors would work well)
• glue gun
• Halloween figures (plastic skulls, spiders, mummies). You can get any of these fun little treats at most drug stores or party/costume stores. I even used spider rings and cut off the ring part.
• decorative paper and/or ribbon
First, clean the jars throughly and let dry.
Spray paint the tops of the jar covers. Let dry.
Using the glue gun, attach the Halloween figures to the jar tops as you’d like.
I like using a variety of items but I kept with a black, white and silver color palette.
If you want to dress the jars up a little more, wrap some Halloween colored paper or decorative ribbon around the jars and attach with glue in the back.
I used chalkboard paper on one jar and added a message with my chalk pens.
Add the candy and you’re done!
Easy and useful Halloween decorative jars. That candy corn will be gone by tonight. Enjoy!
