I am so happy February is here! I feel like January is so long and we had a really cold month here in the northeast. I know February brings more of the same but I’m starting to see the light (ie. spring) at the end of the tunnel (ie. winter). Plus February is a great month for our family. We have a few birthdays and we usually go away over school break. This year we’re going to Hawaii. We’ve been talking about it almost everyday and it’s really sweet to see our three kids so excited. It’s a sentimental place for my husband and me, too because we went there on our honeymoon. <3
With the start of this month, I wanted to share this post called “currently”. It seems to be a trend for a lot of bloggers where they give a little overview of some of the things they’re doing right now. I find it fun to read these because it’s a glimpse into the everyday lives of those we follow. Plus there’s usually lot of useful info in these little snippets and it’s not so staged and intentional.
So I thought I’d do a currently post – not because I think my everyday things are so interesting – but I think sharing can be helpful and can spark creativity. And it’s just kinda fun. Feel free to pick a currently topic and tell me what’s going on with you too!
I’M CURRENTLY:
CARRYING: This phone case. I love the wallet style case and it’s super sturdy. It’s convenient to take on it’s own to run errands and just always have my phone and cards with me.

SNACKING: Remember we’re going to Hawaii so I’m trying to be good. I’m a bit of a popcorn connoisseur. really. it’s a thing. I usually go with homemade and melted butter but, Hawaii. So this is a good, light and tasty alternative.
DRINKING: This Fit Tea 28 Day Detox – I’m on day 17 and I love it. Hawaii y’all. I found an article about it here: http://theeverygirl.com/drank-detox-tea-28-days-heres-happened/ so I decided to try it. It has all natural ingredients with no laxatives. It focuses mostly on suppressing your appetite, boosting your energy and reducing bloat. I’ve lost a few pounds but I’ve also been better about eating so not sure it has anything to do with the tea. I just know that it tastes good, it cuts my craving for a mid-morning or mood-afternoon snack (depending on when I drink it) and it feels good. A cup of warm tea with all those good ingredients, plus an added lemon, on a cold afternoon just feels good.
Any my wine. I love these 2 lately: Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and Apothic Red Blend. I’m not an expert but they’re both yummy.
COOKING: Sautéed kale. I could eat this all day – I’ll have it for breakfast or lunch. I just spray a little PAM in the pan, sauté the kale, add a bit of water and some sliced cherry tomatoes, salt & pepper. It’s delish.
Also, avocado toast. Just sliced avocados with salt & pepper on this bread.
WATCHING: I’m a bit of a tv addict. My husband and I just finished binge watching Ozark. It was awesome and we can’t wait for season 2. We don’t find a lot of series we both enjoy but this one was great. We moved on to Bloodline and we enjoy it just as much too. Great story, suspenseful, and it takes place in the Florida Keys which is so pretty. Some big names too – Sissy Spacek, Chloe Sevigny, Kyle Chandler and John Leguizamo. My daughter and I also watch Gilmore Girls every so often. Its a little hokey and cliche but a good show to watch with a 12 year old. I want to watch Big Little Lies next. wow, that’s a lot of tv.
TRYING: Personalized daily vitamin packs from Care/of. If you missed my post on these, click here to check them out. It’s a great service and company. And I haven’t forgotten to take them. yet.
WAITING FOR: The superbowl! Our NE Patriots are in it and I’m so excited. Its been a great run for all our local sports teams over the past few years. Our kids have been a little spoiled with the teams’ successes. They’ve become accustomed to winning teams, which was very different from when I was growing up. I know a lot of people don’t love the Pats but we’re die hard fans.
I hope you enjoyed this post. It was fun to write. I noticed I need to read more and watch less but that probably won’t happen. oh well. It works for me. Happy weekend!
