We’re in week 4 of the ORC and it was a fun one! Even though I didn’t do any major renovations to this space, a design makeover can sometimes be just as challenging.
I made this wooden ladder using garden stakes and I love how it adds a rustic contrast to the fancier wallpaper. It’s an easy project and super cheap. I’ll share the DIY details soon.
Leaning something against the wall is a nice alternative to hanging artwork. And this ladder functions as a design element and also a simple storage piece.
I attached a wire basket and added these Turkish towels – both are HomeGoods finds. You can get similar towels here. The Turkish towels are so soft and super absorbent and I love the patterns.
I also hung this copper and white stag art. I had this piece hanging in our bedroom but it had gold antlers. I used my copper spray paint (from weeks 2 & 3) and changed it up just enough so it was perfect for this bathroom. It’s amazing what a $7 can of spray paint can do. I have a few more uses for it coming up next week too.
I also bought a few new items that I’ll be adding in next week:
- Blinds – We need privacy in this small bathroom but I want to keep the room bright and not block too much of the natural light. I found faux wood blinds at Home Depot that will look great and hopefully not filter the light. They can be trimmed to fit any window size and they’re very reasonably priced.
- Copper hooks – I need a few more places to hang towels and laundry items so I’ll be adding these to the laundry space.
- A hanging macrame plant holder – macrame is back and I think adding plants and greenery just makes any space come alive. I’m looking for just the right plant and pot for it but I think it will look really groovy 😉
- Decorative contact paper. I repainted the vanity but it needs some better organization and style for inside. This adhesive contact paper will be a pretty addition and will help protect the wood surface.
So be sure to check back next week for these additions plus some more design changes.
